Aurora Borealis at Shadow Lake Lodge
Watching the aurora borealis in the backcountry with friends: that is my definition of magical! We stood out in the snow with our heads tilted up in awe, our boots keeping our toes warm so that nobody wanted to go back inside even though it was past our bedtime.
2023 Season Opener
The term “June monsoon” certainly applied to our opening week at Shadow Lake Lodge! While the rain and snow can be uncomfortable, it set the stage for a lush and dynamic environment - adding appreciation to a warm meal and dry bed! Our team and guests were in high spirits with the company.

The magic of the summer season
What a summer! When we arrived in early June, there was still snow on the ground. We had to shovel it out and pour hot water on the ground to get the pipes to thaw. Back then it was light until 11:30pm. It seems like a year ago – time passes differently out here.
